Border Tuner / Sincronizador Fronterizo

EN - In November 2019, Border Tuner connected the cities of El Paso, Texas, and Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua with bridges of light and sound. The participatory artwork invited people on both sides of the United States-Mexico border to listen to each other across the divide.

Over 11 nights, tens of thousands participated: neighbors, families, students, poets, rappers, veterans, indigenous leaders, activists, braceros (laborers), refugees, and artists from both sides of the border. By making community voices visible in the sky, Border Tuner celebrated the coexistence and interdependance of life in the borderlands.

This film is a selection of conversations taken from over 500 hours of footage recorded by the interactive stations and a team of filmmakers.

This documentary is now screening with the launch of the book
